We have kicked off our school term with jumping straight back into Active Schools activities.

Jump into January

On the 27th of January we had “Jump into January” where each class skipped and jumped for 10 minutes while counting each jump. It was great fun and lovely to spend time outside in the sun. Well done everyone!

Junior Infants and Senior Infant 10,912 jumps.

1st and 2nd Class 38,980

3rd and 4th Class 46,892

5th and 6th Class 63,861

Santa Dash

On Friday December 16th teachers, staff and students completed our first Santa Dash! We had a wonderful time walking in the winter wonderland and had fun singing and dancing along to some Christmas songs. We also enjoyed the elf hunt and counting how many elves we could find along our walk. When we returned to our classrooms we stayed active and enjoyed doing two Christmas dances!

Merry Christmas from the Active School’s Committee!

Halloween Walk 2022

On Friday 28th October staff and students dressed up for our Halloween walk which took us around the school for junior classes and around Sallins for the senior classes. It was a beautiful sunny autumn day and fun was had by all!

Feet on Friday

Students have also resumed ‘Feet on Friday’ where they are trying to walk, scoot or cycle to school every Friday. This is a great initiative to get active outside of school and to also reduce our carbon emissions. We thank everyone with their continued support with ‘Feet on Friday’!

Get Active for 10

Each day classes will get out of their chairs for 10 minutes to do some fun exercises and physical activities. We have seen many classes utilising great online resources to get active such as Go Noodle, Cosmic Kids Yoga and online workouts.
